Buncombe County, NC (November 13, 2018) – A Senior at the West Henderson High School lost her life in a fatal accident yesterday afternoon, November 12, according to police.

The girl was identified as 17-year-old Alexis Moffitt, who had been driving her Honda Civic around 1:40 p.m. when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle. This caused her to cross the center line, which is when her Civic crashed into a truck driven by Terence Weaver.

Moffitt died at the scene of the accident. Weaver received injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

At the time of the accident, police determined that it had been raining heavily. Moffitt had been traveling too fast for the road conditions. At this time, they continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
