Greenville, SC (October 14, 2018) – Greenville County Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened Saturday evening on Interstate 85 in Georgia.
According to investigators, two people were killed in a crash involving two motorcycles and three other vehicles on Interstate 85 in South Carolina. The initial police report indicates that the accident happened around 5:10 pm on Saturday evening in Greenville County. The South Carolina Highway patrol investigation reports that a car traveling southbound swerved to avoid traffic when suddenly colliding with another car and then crashing into two motorcycles.
Both the drivers and passengers of the motorcycles were ejected. The driver of one motorcycle and passenger of another were killed, following the 5-vehicle collision. One of the motorcyclists, 47-year-old Bobby Alvin of Duncan died shortly after hitting the median wall.
The passenger riding on the other motorcycle was identified as 52-year-old Catherine Lundstrom Hall of Spartanburg. Catherine Lundstrom Hall died after being thrown from the cycle into northbound lanes, where she was struck by a fifth vehicle. Greenville County Police shut down the highway Saturday evening after the accident.
