Mint Hill, NC (November 10, 2018) – One individual lost their life in a two-car collision on Lawyers Road on Friday morning, November 9, and police have now identified them. The individual was identified as 16-year-old Modesty Monaesia Shelton.
Mint Hill Police arrived at the scene of the accident, which took place in the 12600 block of Lawyers Road around 7 a.m., to find that Shelton had lost her life at the scene of the accident.
Police believe that, for some reason that is not yet known, Shelton crossed over the center line and was struck by a vehicle that ended up in her path. Police believe that speed played a major role in the severity of the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle also received injuries but they were non-life-threatening.
Police are still trying to gather information regarding the crash so that they can move forward with their investigation.
