Moultrie, GA (December 29, 2018) – Four people received injuries in a car accident that took place on Christmas Eve at an intersection that is known for serious accidents. At the time of this specific accident, a Florida driver ran a stop sign and caused the accident.
The collision took place at the intersection of Highway 37 and Thigpen Trail around 6:50 a.m. on the morning in question. The Georgia State Patrol said that 71-year-old Gladys Hicks was driving a Chevy northbound and stopped at the stop sign. Hicks then drove into the intersection and was struck by a Yukon being driven by Betty Trimble.
Hicks and Trimble, as well as Trimble’s passengers, were all taken to the hospital to be treated with a wide variety of injuries.
Hicks received a ticket for failing to yield at a stop sign. Police continue their investigation into the accident at this time.
