Savannah, GA (December 23, 2018) – The Savannah Police Traffic Investigation Unit is still taking a close look at a rollover accident that took place this morning and led to one fatality.

The accident took place around 1:50 a.m. when 35-year-old Akiel Bolton was driving an Infiniti north on Abercorn Street with one passenger, Arila Albany. Bolton suddenly lost control of the vehicle following an accident and struck multiple trees off the side of the road.

The vehicle overturned after it went off the side of the road.  Bolton and Albany sustained serious injuries and both were taken to the hospital. However, while there, Albany died at the hospital.

The crash is still under investigation by TIU at this time.
