Catawba County, NC (November 27, 2018) – A head-on collision took place on Highway 10 that led to serious injuries.

Catawba County, NC (November 27, 2018) – A head-on collision took place on Highway 10 that led to serious injuries in two drivers early yesterday morning, November 26. The crash happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of NC Highway 10 and Cat Square Road.

Rescuers claimed that both drivers were pinned inside their vehicles, which sustained extremely serious damages. They were both rescued, which took about 45 minutes in total. Both injured victims were taken to local hospitals in serious condition.

At the time of the accident, a black Ford tried passing on a double yellow line and struck a driver in the other lane. The driver of the Ford was identified as Kenyada Sledge, who was charged with reckless driving related to the incident.

A mother and son were inside the other vehicle when it overturned off the side of the road. The child in the vehicle was able to free himself from the crash.

At this time, an investigation into the matter continues.
