Cornelius, NC (November 19, 2018) – A Hopewell High student from Huntersville lost their life in a crash that took place on Saturday night, November 17 around 7:25 p.m.
The student was identified as Andres Morales, who was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by a student from Hough High, Grant Geis. The two were involved in an accident.
The accident took place on Bailey Road and the vehicle ended up going off the side of the road and striking a large tree. Police believe that speed played a role in the accident.
Police say that Morales was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital and Geis remains in critical condition in the hospital today. Police continue to investigate the accident.
