Greenville County, SC – Emergency Crews Respond to Fatal Accident

Greenville County, SC (October 26, 2018) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a fatal accident that took place.

Greenville County, SC (October 26, 2018) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a fatal accident that took place yesterday, October 25, in Greenville County on the Piedmont Highway. The accident took the life of one man.

The man who was killed in the accident has since been identified as 75-year-old John Edward Wood of Piedmont. He had been driving his pickup truck west when he suddenly crossed over the center line and struck a 2004 GMC SUV.

Wood passed away from his injuries at the scene. The 84-year-old driver in the SUV was entrapped in his vehicle and, once extracted, was taken to the hospital with a variety of injuries. At this time, his condition is unknown.

There have been no charges and police continue to investigate the accident.
