Myrtle Beach, SC (December 11, 2018) – One person was arrested following a serious pedestrian crash that took place in Myrtle Beach. The driver fled the scene in a hit-and-run.
Around 2:30 a.m. today, December 11, police officers at Myrtle Beach responded to the accident near the Highway 17 Bypass and Frontage Road. A person had been walking in the roadway at the time. Responding officers found the person after they had been struck by a vehicle.
Witnesses spoke with police and said that the driver who struck the pedestrian had been driving a vehicle owned by the Red Top Taxi. Officers spoke with the owner of the company and were led to the negligent driver.
The victim received great bodily injury and is now in critical condition. The driver will soon be identified and charges are pending.
