Newton, NC (December 13, 2018) – Police say that a two-vehicle collision took place at the intersection of Burris Road and NC-16 in Newton on Thursday afternoon. Both drivers were hospitalized with injuries.
At the time, a Nissan minivan had been traveling east on Burris Road when the minivan suddenly crossed the intersection and struck a Subaru crossover that had been traveling north at the time. This took place around 12:45 p.m.
The Nissan driver claimed that a tractor-trailer had been traveling north and obstructed the driver’s view of the Subaru. Luckily, none of those involved were seriously injured but they still received treatment at the hospital.
Police say that nobody has been charged and the accident remains under investigation at this time.
